Christian Ditter talks about 'Love, Rosie'
Excerpt from the interview:
Luana: Love, Rosie was your debut in an English-spoken film. The movie is doing very well worldwide, how do you feel about the buzz “Love, Rose” is getting all over the world?
Christian: I couldn’t be more happy that audiences all over the world love the film so much. People write to me on Twitter that Love, Rosie is their new favorite film; one couple even got engaged after watching it – that’s a great reward for all the work and love we’ve all put into making it.
L: We heard that you put Lily and Sam together in a room in Soho for their first meeting and that they felt awkward in the beginning. Were you doing a chemistry test with them? How was working with Lily and Sam?
C: It was very important for this movie to believe that the protagonists have been friends for life. A major part of that is being comfortable in close proximity with each other. So, in our first meeting, I’ve asked Lily and Sam to sit very very close to one another, with their faces literally just centimeters apart. It was awkward, but it gave a great sense of how the two of them tick together as a team – and they’ve handled it with great humor, and by the end of our meeting it did actually feel like they had been friends for life. And that feeling continued for the work on set – there was a great camaraderie between everyone involved.

Lily Laight (Katie) attends a special 'Love, Rosie' screening at Paignton's Vue Cinema
West End starlet Lily Laight arrived in style at the Paignton special viewing of her latest cinema release, Love Rosie.
Stagecoach laid on a vintage bus to take Lily and her family to the special screening at Paignton's Vue Cinema.
Around 75 local people attended the special screening, so many it was moved to a larger screening room.
In the movie, Lily stars alongside Hollywood's current young Brit favourite, Sam Claflin who plays Finn Odair in The Hunger Games and The Blindside actress Lily Collins.
