I won't be slowing down any time soon, says Fall star Nick
THE Fall actor Nick Lee is on a roll and is raking in TV and film roles with no sign of slowing down.
The 31-year-old Monaghan man played crime hack Ned Callan in the BBC's murder-based drama, he's just wrapped filming Cecelia Ahern's upcoming blockbuster Love Rosie and is already tearing around the Wicklow hills on horseback shooting Moonfleet with Ray Winstone and Ben Chaplin.
But Nick says working as an actor hasn't always been so easy.
"I've been acting for 10 years," he told the Herald.
"It was tough when I started out. I remember the year after I left college, I worked eight days as an actor in a year and was thinking 'How on earth can you make a career out of this?' So I'm happy things have changed a bit since then," he laughed.
Nick is currently shooting Sky's latest drama series Moonfleet. "I'm playing an Officer called James and am Ben Chaplin's right-hand man," he explains.
"It's been fairly intense, I had to learn how to ride a horse in four weeks. Well, try to horse ride," he concedes.
Moonfleet is based on the 1898 John Meade Falkner novel and is filled with lots of swashbuckling and chases.
"I seem to spend most of the series running after Ray Winstone," Nick says.
It's a far cry from Cecilia's romantic comedy. "That was a completely different feel but a great project to work on."
Nick will be appearing on RTE's hit TV series Love/ Hate this year, and a second series of The Fall is already commissioned.
But he says he has no intention of slowing down. "When you're an actor you're delighted to be working so you kind of see that as a holiday," he says.
